France

June in the Champagne region felt like a dream—sun-drenched vineyards stretching as far as the eye could see and, nestled among them, our home for two weeks: a sprawling château straight out of a fairy tale. Its walls were steeped in history, each creak of the wooden floors whispering stories of the past. The animal heads mounted above doorways gave the place a haunting charm, and my room, which doubled as a library, was pure magic. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, an armchair perfect for curling up in, and an oversized window that framed the golden countryside—it was my sanctuary.

The château wasn’t just a beautiful setting; it was a crucible for our team. We weren’t just training our bodies but also our minds. Morning meditations in the grand hall became a ritual. The light streamed through tall windows as we sat in silence, focusing our energy and connecting as a unit. Afternoons were spent drilling on the château grounds, the echoes of our calls bouncing off ancient stone walls. And the evenings? Those were for laughter, team dinners, and moments of quiet reflection under a sky full of stars

July brought us to London for a pre-tournament, a taste of the competition awaiting us in Nottingham. The intensity ramped up. Stepping onto the pitch in London felt like stepping into a pressure cooker. Every pass, every layout, every defensive stand mattered. It wasn’t just about winning but about testing our cohesion under fire.

We fought hard and learned harder. The games weren’t perfect, but they prepared us for what lay ahead. The team grew sharper, more united. By the end of the weekend, there was an unspoken understanding among us—we were ready for Nottingham.

NOTTINGHAM

The U24 Ultimate World Championships in Nottingham was everything we had worked toward. Competing for Australia, wearing the green and gold, filled me with an indescribable pride.

The tournament was a rollercoaster. We faced heartbreakingly close losses, exhilarating wins, and moments where we dug deeper than we thought possible. By the time the final whistle blew in our last match, we had secured 5th place. It wasn’t the podium finish we had dreamed of, but it was an achievement we were fiercely proud of. We had given it everything, left our hearts on the field, and walked away as a team forged in fire.

CHAMONIX

A handful of us decided to chase one last adventure together: the French Alps. We packed up and headed to Chamonix, a haven for climbers and adventurers. The towering peaks were both humbling and exhilarating. Mornings were spent scaling rock faces, afternoons exploring alpine trails, and evenings in rustic mountain lodges, recounting the day’s exploits over hearty meals.

As I stood at the top of a climb, the mountains stretching endlessly before me, I reflected on the journey. From the château’s cozy library room to the roar of the crowd in Nottingham, to the laughter of kids learning frisbee in Chamonix—it had been a summer of growth, challenge, and unforgettable memories.
